GAGGIA is a world leader in professional and home coffee machines.  The company's founder,  Achille Gaggia, developed the modern steamless professional coffee machine and patented it in 1938. His  technique was to force water under pressure over the coffee grounds.  This method produces the crema that has made espresso coffee world famous. Achille Gaggia went on to found GAGGIA, the company, in 1947.  GAGGIA produced only commercial espresso machines until 1977 when they added coffee machines for home use to their product line.
